Pool Guide
SAFETY: If you have kids that are not excellent swimmers, PLEASE read this: There are alarms at the top of each sliding glass door. Make sure these alarms are switched to ON. When they are on, an alarm will sound if the door is opened without holding down the button. Please check each alarm to make sure they are working. The pool is 6 feet deep, and children drown without a sound in a matter of a few minutes. Please don’t take any chance at all. I purchased child jackets that were hopefully left for you to use. Please consider letting your child just wear a life jacket if there’s a chance the door will be left open.
If you do not have a non-swimmer in your group, feel free to switch the alarms to the OFF position so you can open and close the door more easily.
If you are planning on swimming, keep the pool covered if the pool cover is available. It’s not as pretty with the cover on, but it’ll be at least 10 degrees warmer with the cover on. If you decide to leave it off, it would be great if you put it back on toward the end of your stay for future swimming guests. Just be careful with it because it’s made of a thin plastic that can tear easily, especially around the little clips that keep the straps on.
Running the pool heater costs an extra $20/day. If you start your trip and then decide you want the heater on, I’ll pay for the first two days because it takes a while to get the pool warmed up depending on the season.
For night swimming, remember that quiet hours start at 10:00 pm. We love our neighbors, and I know they need their sleep. If you take a swim after 10 pm, remember that sound travels very easily especially being on the lake. Whispers only after 10 pm. Thank you!!
